And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
Acts 20:22 (KJV)
There are times when we do not know what to do. There are times when we want to do something, but God tells us to do something else. We need to do what God tells us to do.
Paul in this verse was speaking about his faithfulness to God preaching where he went. He only went somewhere if the Holy Spirit let him. God communicates to us in different ways, but today we will be talking about the Holy Spirit Who is God.
When we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit comes into us. Then speaking in His small, quiet voice, tells us what to do. It is not always an audible voice but many times a thought or feeling. When we are called to do or not do something, the Holy Spirit will reveal it to us if we ask in His own way of doing things.
The point of this verse is to make the point that we need to do things by the Holy Spirit’s prompting – not ours. When we do this , we are led by the Spirit and in the will of God.
Today, I encourage you to ask the Spirit what His will for you is. When you are about to do something, is what God wants? Ask the Spirit.
Have a blessed Friday!
THANK YOU! GOD BLESS YOU! AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!
